Target Audience: This workshop would suit Drs and Nurses with varying ranges of experience who have to manage airway emergencies from time to time.
Number of Delegates: A maximum of 20 delegates (16 Doctors and 4 Nurses)
Format: The workshop will use a variety of teaching methods such as medium fidelity simulation, small group case studies, procedural skills stations and interactive lectures to cover a range of topics.
Presenters: Your facilitators come from a variety of specialist backgrounds including emergency physicians, anaesthetists, general physicians and emergency nurses. All facilitators are certified crisis resource management trainers
Program Sessions: The program will cover
- Basic Airway Management
- Rapid Sequence Induction
- Failed Intubation
- Procedural Sedation
- Surgical Airway
- Appropriate Drugs

Objectives: To update practitioners knowledge and skills in the care of the patient in rural and remote practice
•To practice decision making, prioritisation and leadership in an airway crisis
•To update key technical and cognitive skills in emergency airway management
Predisposing Activity: Pre reading involving case studies will be sent to you prior to the workshop.
CPD Points: RACGP: 40 Cat 1 Points
ACRRM: 4 Core,8 EXT Skills, 10 ALS (16 Anaes, 2 surgery)
