Position Description
This is a flexible GP position which can be either full-time or part-time. Saturday mornings are rostered on a one in three basis. A co-operative after hours arrangement with other GP surgeries, reduces after hours responsibilities to about one night in nine.
Currently we have one female and three male practitioners, and we would welcome either a male or female associate to replace a senior male doctor who wishes to retire. This GP position does not require a commitment to obstetrics, anaesthetics or major procedural work.
Out doctors have VMO privileges at the Atherton District Hospital, which has an HDU and a birthing unit. Permanent and visiting specialists are available, which access to physicians, a surgeon, a psychiatrist, a paediatrician, a gynaecologist, and a visiting radiologist.

We are looking for a full time doctor who has General registrant with Vocational Registration, preferably his or her FRACGP. It will be for a minimum term of 2 years. It is a group practice with five doctors when we are fully staffed. On call which includes a Saturday morning clinic is shared equally. When there are 5 doctors working, each doctor has a half day off each week. As we cover doctors working at the practice from within the practice when they are sick or on holiday, when there are less than 5 doctors working, the half day is not taken.
Procedural skills required include excision of skin lesions, suturing, plastering undisplaced fractures, insertion of catheters, emergency resuscitation, joint injections, and removal of corneal foreign bodies, ante natal care, ear syringing and other typical GP office procedures. Three years previous general practice experience is desirable and the doctor needs to have General Registration in Queensland or be eligible for section 135 registration. The practice operates in a District of Workforce Shortage and Area of Need and is largely staffed by Overseas Trained Doctors.
If the practice is to act as a sponsor for you, you will be an employee on a contract. You will be paid 55% of your gross billings. This includes superannuation, holiday pay, sick pay and any other payments made on your behalf and are net of any fees charged in relation to your employment by any agency. Alternative arrangements may also be negotiated depending on the circumstances. In any case the cost to the practice will be similar.
If you are a permanent resident or an Australian citizen, you may practice as an independent doctor and receive all your billings. You will then pay the practice a service fee of 40% of your billings plus a further 5% if the practice has to provide supervision for you as part of the terms of your registration. This is also net of agency fees connected with your employment.

We are looking for either 1 full-time GP’s or equivalent part-time GP’s, who are seeking to make a long-term commitment to the group.
You will need good previous GP experience with interests in general medicine. If you have experience or an interest in ED activities that would be especially well regarded, as we position our group to expand into this space.
Our existing GP's have significant earning opportunities; due to the extensive range of health support they receive (we have 12 practice nurses in the group). Earnings for most GP's exceed $300,000, while some GP's earn substantially more. Our minimum service fee is 35%.

We are replacing a doctor who recently left and we have another doctor leaving, so we require 2 full time doctors who have experience in General Practice. Both doctors had full patient loads and were booked out in advance.
Our services include general medicine, minor surgery, family planning, acupuncture, chronic care, skin checks and mole scan. Sarina Family Practice is offering a full-time GP position from a single Practice location which is remunerated as a percentage of the doctor’s gross billings with superannuation contributions paid by the Practice. The doctor works weekday morning and afternoon sessions (nominally 8 hours per day) with a weekday afternoon off duty; each doctor works a Saturday morning on a 1 in 4 roster (total 36 hrs per week plus the 1 in 4 Saturday roster). The GP position carries Area of Workforce Shortage status which opens it to an International Medical Graduate (IMG) and provides access to a HIC Provider Number as well as attracting Medicare rebates at the higher Vocationally Registered GP rate for the doctor as he or she progresses towards the FRACGP qualification. The Practice Principal, who comes from an academic background, is also a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and is actively involved in the preparation of IMGs for the FRACGP examination. Sarina Family Practice will assist the successful applicant with finding suitable accommodation and provide an introductory package of financial assistance.
