Delivering high quality care in remote, rural and regional communities takes skill, commitment and recognition. The Australian Government’s Workforce Incentive Program is designed to acknowledge the breadth of work rural doctors do and provide meaningful financial support for services that go beyond standard practice.

Health Workforce Queensland is the lead Rural Workforce Agency responsible for managing the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing’s Workforce Incentive Program.

It rewards doctors in MM3-7 who deliver primary care plus emergency or advanced skills, with payments of up to $10,500 a year - provided you meet the specific eligibility criteria set out in the guidelines.
