Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH) is a joint initiative of The University of Queensland (UQ), University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Darling Downs Health (DDH) and South West Hospital and Health Service (SWHHS). We support nursing, midwifery, allied health students and health professionals to develop a high quality and highly skilled workforce across regional, rural and remote Southern Queensland.
SQRH is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health as a University Department of Rural Health under the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program (RHMTP). SQRH is funded to engage with the local communities to support the delivery of training to students, maintain and progress an evidence base and the rural health research agenda, support improvements in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and provide regional leadership in developing innovative training solutions to address rural workforce recruitment retention.

Following an internal promotion, a rare opportunity has become available within Charleville as the Clinical Educator (Nursing). This position is responsible for supporting effective, high quality rural training experiences for pre-registration nursing and midwifery students across rural and remote South West Queensland. It will include supporting the supervision of students during rural clinical placements, facilitating interprofessional learning opportunities during student placements, and enhancing support and education to both students and clinical supervisors.
Whilst this position is located in Charleville, travel to other sites across the South West Queensland region will occasionally be required.
To be successful for this opportunity, you will be a registered nurse with broad clinical experience. This experience will include clinical education and supervision of undergraduate nursing students, and will see you bringing sound knowledge of interprofessional education, collaboration and practice. You will bring a commitment to research activities along with a willingness to participate in rural health research.
Above all else, you will be able to demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills, strong negotiation and consultation skills, and the ability to establish effective relationships across a wider community level.

This position can be filled on a full-time or part-time basis. This is a fixed-term position until 31 December 2021 at Academic level B as a Clinical Academic.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $99,542 - $118,206, plus a market loading of up to 10% and super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $116,464 - $150,121. A relocation package may be available as required.
