Position Description:
Come for the life experience, stay for the lifestyle, this organisation is currently seeking an Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist to join their Longreach team, on a full-time basis.
As a Physiotherapist, your main aim will be to assess, treat and prevent disorders in human movement caused by injury or disease by:
Administering muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests to identify and assess physical problems of patients
Designing and evaluating treatment programs to address patients' problems
Treating patients to reduce pain, improve circulation, strengthen muscles, improve cardiothoracic, cardiovascular and respiratory functions, restore joint mobility, and improve balance and coordination
Reviewing, continually monitoring, assessing and evaluating programs and treatments
Assisting health and community groups to improve the health of individuals and the community by raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, disease and disability, and other health-related issues.
As an Exercise Physiologist, your focus will be on assessing, planning and implementing exercise programs for preventing and managing chronic diseases and injuries and assisting in restoring optimal physical function, health and wellness by:
Screening and risk stratifying to ensure the safety and appropriateness of exercise and physical activity interventions
Assessing a person’s ‘movement’ capacity in people of all ages and levels of health, wellbeing or fitness
Developing safe, effective individualised exercise interventions
Providing health education, advice and support to enhance health and wellbeing
Providing exercise intervention and advice for those at risk of developing a chronic condition or injury
Managing communication with internal and external stakeholders
There will be some travel with overnight stays required to provide outreach services to communities distant to Longreach. A vehicle, meals and accommodation whilst away will be subsidised by the organisation. Helping those who may not otherwise receive healthcare and support, you will get to see the real difference your work makes in their lives, allowing clients to live and receive treatment locally.

Qualifications & Experience:
To be considered, you must:
Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology or Physiotherapy
Have current registration with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) or AHPRA or be eligible for registration.
Salary Information:
$73,976 - $90,668 per annum plus super (commensurate with experience)
