Main Description: The medical centre moved to its present location within the Chinchilla Medical Centre opposite the water tower in May 1991 and expanded from 5 to 9 doctor’s rooms in November 2009. The church which was previously on the site was retained incorporating the modern architect-designed Medical Centre, which also includes Chinchilla Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Sullivan and Nicolaides blood collection rooms.
The Practice is a Distribution Priority Area and Area of Need for OTD. The patient base is mixed, including retirees as well as young families. The practice offers a combination of bulk and private billing and a wide range of services at the facility including computerised radiography. They have visiting specialists and on-site pathology.
Mixed billing practice. A guaranteed amount of $ 120 per hour plus GST for the first 12 weeks or 65% of receipts (whichever is the greater). The candidate must have AHPRA registration and at least three years medical work experience as a General Practitioner.
The practice has nine consulting rooms and a large nursing area which helps deal with any emergencies. The practice is computerised using Best Practice software.
The doctors are well supported with modern and well- maintained medical equipment. Most importantly, they have a vibrant team of staff members who provide friendly, efficient and compassionate care towards all of their patients with a commitment to ongoing education and training. The team is made up of a Practice Manager and office administrator, three receptionists and three Registered Nurses who share 1 full time position. The practice is accredited through AGPAL conforming to the RACGP 5th Standards .
They are looking for General Practitioners who value small town life but with the prospect of being very busy. They have a waiting list of patients for at least two GP’s so you will not have to build your practice, in fact exactly the opposite. The owners and staff are very supportive and as a general practitioner you would be welcomed into this small community where Chinchilla values country life and living.
