Mates4Mates provides support and rehabilitation to current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members who have been impacted as a result of their service, and their families. Situated at our Townsville Family Recovery Centre this role will work within a multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of psychological services to address mental, emotional and behavioural issues and provide individual and group evidence informed and evidence-based therapies.

Position Description:
The role provides a strong varied caseload, and opportunity to deliver telehealth, face-to-face, individual and group programs. You will also be working amongst a progressive and motivated clinical team delivering evidence informed treatments - you’ll find that no two days are the same. This is a permanent, full-time position. The role will see you, as an experienced and enthusiastic psychologist, work within a multidisciplinary team at our Family Recovery Centre in Townsville, helping veterans and their families move forward from service-related injuries.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering evidence-based individual and group psychological interventions for online and face-to-face delivery.
Developing tailored recovery plans, in consultation with our clients, to assist them in achieving the best possible clinical outcomes.
Updating current and developing new evidenced-based group workshops across a range of areas including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction.
Leading education programs for groups and liaising with relevant internal and external providers as required.
Promoting our services to relevant stakeholders to ensure our clients are engaged and aware of the ongoing support they can receive.
A varied and interesting clinical load, working in consultation with a multidisciplinary team in a supportive and professional environment.

Qualifications and Experience:
Essential for success
Tertiary qualification in Psychology and full registration with AHPRA or membership of AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker
Possession of a Medicare provider number or eligibility to apply for one
Experienced in the treatment and management of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.
Ability to develop and implement treatment and recovery plans for individuals and families, as required.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and computer proficiency, including
The ability to use client information management systems.
Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team,
Demonstrated accountability and proficiency in clinical report writing.
Experience and /or knowledge of experiential therapies and the development of psychological programs
Advantageous
Direct experience in delivering psychological or related services to current or past serving Defence personnel and their families.
Demonstrated clinical skills in delivering evidence-based treatment to people across the lifespan (children to adults) presenting with a wide variety or presentations.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
