The practice offers a range of diagnostic, health and medical services delivered by General Practitioners, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, and Visiting Specialists. On-site services include Pathology, Pharmacy, JCU and Employment Medicals. Allied health services include Physiotherapy, Psychology, Audiology, and Dietetics, supporting a holistic approach to patient wellbeing. Additional specialty services include skin checks, complex medication reviews and specialist medical consultations. Medical training is a core aspect of this organisation. The practice supports GP registrars working toward specialist qualifications, as well as placements for interns, medical students, and nursing students — reflecting a strong commitment to developing the health workforce in rural and remote communities. Position Description:
The Practice is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join their multidisciplinary primary healthcare team in Emerald, Queensland. Working alongside their GPs, allied health professionals, and visiting specialists, the Registered Nurse plays a central role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to the Central Highlands community. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for a broad range of clinical and practice support duties including triage and acute patient assessment, pathology collection, ECG, immunisations and vaccinations, wound management, chronic disease management (including diabetes and asthma), care planning and health assessments (MBS items), cervical screening (if qualified), and assistance with minor procedures. The role also carries responsibilities for infection control, cold chain management, and medicines storage in line with RACGP accreditation standards.
Position Requirements:
Hold current, unconditional AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Demonstrated patient-focused approach
Committed to ongoing professional development
Experience in general practice or primary healthcare is advantageous, as is an immunisation certificate, wound care experience, or chronic disease qualifications
