“To facilitate the recruitment, retention and quality of general medical practitioners and primary health care teams in rural and remote Queensland communities.”

Health Workforce Queensland is part of a network of Rural Workforce Agencies within Australia funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
The agency was established in 1998 to help address the critical shortage of rural and remote General Practitioners in Queensland and to promote greater health service options for country Queenslanders.
