Health Workforce Queensland delivers several Professional Development Workshops throughout the year, which are specifically targeted to remote and rural general practitioners and nurses.
The content and programs for our Professional Development Workshops are developed in collaboration with rural doctors and emergency specialists, as well as taking into consideration the findings from our Health Workforce Needs Assessment (HWNA).
The interactive workshops are practical, procedural-based and use the latest simulation training technologies. As such the workshops are designed for small group learning which provides a more personal experience as numbers are limited.
Our workshops are submitted for accreditation with Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and by the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP).
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via education@healthworkforce.com.au or

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, along with the continued restrictions on group gatherings and social distancing put in place by the Australian Government, we are continually reviewing our workshops. At this stage we are still going ahead with our workshops list below. If a workshop is cancelled due to COVID-19, we will issue a full refund.
To read what processes Health Workforce Queensland is implementing at all workshops and events visit our COVID-19 Safe Events page. Should any of the restrictions change as announced by either the Queensland or Australian Governments, we will communicate these to you as soon as possible.
Did you know you can apply for a bursary to attend our workshops? If you are eligible, we can help cover your registration fees, travel, and accommodation costs to attend! Find out more about the Health Workforce Scholarship Program.
