Workforce Planning

Health Workforce Queensland has significant experience in health workforce and service planning using a multidisciplinary planning team. We undertake ongoing and extensive community engagement to understand Queensland’s rural and remote primary healthcare workforce and we measure our workforce on an annual basis to analyse trends and identify workforce needs and gaps. We capture this data through our Health Workforce Needs Assessment, Minimum Data Set, and Annual Surveys.

We collaborate with governments, primary health networks (PHNs) and education providers to address health workforce demand and supply challenges. We collaborate on strategic projects and pilot studies, like the North West Queensland Allied Health Project and the Post Fellowship Rural Generalist Support Framework to assess new workforce models and we have a proven track record in developing effective partnerships.
