Health Workforce Queensland (HWQ) is proud to launch our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in 2025, marking an important milestone in our organisation’s reconciliation journey. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, and to consulting with them to improve access to culturally responsive primary health workforce.
At HWQ, we acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waterways of the communities across Queensland. We deeply respect and value the rich diversity of their cultures, traditions, and histories. We believe that reconciliation is essential for strengthening relationships, creating new opportunities, and building mutual respect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations. We reaffirm our commitment to working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities, and organisations to address health inequities and promote positive change.
Our RAP serves as a guiding framework, ensuring that our focus on reconciliation remains strong. Through connection, respect, and understanding, we strive to create lasting and impactful change that supports the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Health Workforce Queensland looks forward to this next chapter in our reconciliation journey and remains dedicated to fostering inclusive, respectful, and culturally safe environments for all.
