Position Description:
We want you as part of our innovative and diverse team of allied health professionals. We have an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian to join our Townsville team, on a full-time basis. This role will be based primarily in Townsville with outreach work in regional communities.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing nutrition and dietetic services across a range of clients with a broad case mix. You'll provide dietetic services through a range of programs, both in Townsville and regional and remote locations. You will have a passion for education and strive for positive health outcomes in patients by building knowledge and skills. You will assist clients to understand the relationship between health, health conditions and food. You will be working in health promotion, prevention and treatment as part of the interdisciplinary team to promote coordinated, multidisciplinary team-based care for the provision of integrated primary health services.
Using a consultative approach, you will:
- Provide evidence based individualised and group dietetic interventions and supports to maximise health outcomes
- Educate clients on the importance of diet and the planning and preparation of food
- Provide evidence-based lifestyle modification programs and nutrition consultation
- Undertake food evaluation audits
- Provide bariatric dietetic consultation and support
- Plan, and evaluate nutrition intervention programs
- Complete nutrition assessments, develop and deliver nutrition management and education programs and training
- Work with community groups to improve the health of individuals and their community
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive chronic disease management and prevention programs
This role will include considerable travel to rural and remote locations and therefore requires a person who is flexible, works autonomously and can manage their own workload in a dynamic evolving environmen

Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Dietetics
- Registration with the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA, APD)
- Ability to obtain Blue & Yellow Cards
- Ability to travel to rural and remote locations - day trips, overnight trips and weekly trips (5 days)
- Experience in working in a rural and regional environment (desirable)
- Additional skills in working within the NDIS, Bariatric, Eating Disorders and/or Aged Care would be highly desirable
- Current driver's license
- You will be self-motivated, creative and not be afraid to be innovative
