Position Description:
Join the Team as a permanent VR General Practitioner and make a meaningful impact on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
The service is seeking a permanent VR GP dedicated to delivering superior care through innovative approaches and leadership in clinical practice.
The service is dedicated to delivering culturally appropriate, holistic primary health care that truly makes a difference. As one of the GPs, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional care to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, working within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of passionate clinicians and support staff. You will directly contribute to their mission of providing patient-centred care grounded in a dedicated model of care.
The position will be responsible for the provision of General Practitioner services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and families as part of a multi-disciplinary team of medical and health staff, within the operational framework of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander community-controlled Health Service.
The position will also be responsible for providing expertise and participating in processes in conjunction with the Clinical Practice Manager to lead effective Clinical governance, clinical quality and safety and foster a culture of continuous quality improvement in the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services.
The role will involve service delivery from the GRAICCHS clinic and outreach services, as required.
Position Requirements:
MBBS, and unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia with at least one (1) years post-fellowship experience in a primary care setting
Specialist GP recognition / Vocational Registration
Eligible to obtain provider number(s) in the required locations
Demonstrated clinical experience, in particular the ability to implement and support a primary health care team and effectively plan and coordinate own and health team’s workload to achieve results
Prior experience or genuine interest in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
