This organisation is now seeking an Graduate Occupational Therapist to join their team in Longreach on a permanent, full-time basis.
As part of a supportive, diverse, and multidisciplinary team, you’ll be providing occupational therapy services throughout Longreach and the neighbouring communities. You will provide holistic care and long-term treatment and prevention strategies in collaboration with a range of specialists.
Helping people who may not otherwise have access to healthcare and support, you’ll see the real difference your work makes in rural communities as you enable clients to live and receive high-quality care locally.
Core duties will include, but not limited to:
Supporting participants inclusion in the communities and activities they choose;
Assessing clients' emotional, cognitive, developmental and physical capabilities using clinical observations and standardised assessments;
Planning and directing programs through the use of vocational, recreational, social and educational activities on an individual and group basis;
Assessing clients' functional potential in their home, leisure, work and school environments, and recommend environmental adaptations to maximise their performance;
Providing advice to family members, carers, employers and teachers about adapting clients' home, leisure, work and school environments;
Delivering goal-directed early childhoods supports; and
Assisting with community education activities to improve the health of individuals by raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, disease and disability.

There will be some travel required to provide services to communities outside of your area, with some overnight stay required, so you must be comfortable with this.

Providing work shadowing opportunities
Allowing you to drive your own success, work autonomously and become a successful and experienced Allied Health Professional
