Position Description:
This organisation is now seeking an Occupational Therapist to join their team in Townsville (opportunities also available in Longreach and Mount Isa) on a permanent, full-time basis. Applications from all experience levels, from fresh graduates to seasoned experts are encouraged. As part of a supportive, diverse, and multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide occupational therapy services in collaboration with a range of specialists. You'll get to treat based on clinical need without the barriers that are often present in private practice funding; offering long-term treatment and prevention strategies. You will work with a diverse range of clients, set your own schedule and have the chance to see the real difference your work makes as you enable rural communities to live and receive high-quality holistic care.
Core duties:
Support participants inclusion in the communities and activities they choose
Assess clients' emotional, cognitive, developmental and physical capabilities using clinical observations and standardised assessments
Plan and direct programs through the use of vocational, recreational, social and educational activities on an individual and group basis
Assess clients' functional potential in their home, leisure, work and school environments, and recommend environmental adaptations to maximise their performance
Provide advice to family members, carers, employers and teachers about adapting clients' home, leisure, work and school environments
Deliver goal-directed early childhoods supports
Assist with community education activities to improve the health of individuals by raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, disease and disability

Salary:
Enjoy an attractive starting salary of $72,527 – $88,890 (commensurate with experience) PLUS super and up to $15,900 salary sacrificing!

Qualifications & Experience:
Skills and experience You will need to be registered or eligible to obtain registration with AHPRA and have a passion for providing quality healthcare. In addition, you will need:
A relevant Occupational Therapy qualification
A current, unrestricted 'C' class Australian Driver's License
