Mental Health Clinician (Provisional/Registered Psychologist or Accredited Social Worker) Mackay, Queensland.
Employment Type: Permanent – Full-Time.
Practice Information:
This psychology clinic has a compassionate and caring approach with their clients and believe that the relationship between a client and their psychologist is key to their healing and empowerment. They use evidence-based practice to assist their clients in improving their lives
Position Description:
The Clinician will provide:
Evidence-based psychological and psychosocial therapeutic interventions that promote recovery for the clients.
Provision of documentation of mental health assessments, including completion of mental state examination, case formulations, relapse prevention plans and individual treatment planning.
Provision of risk assessments and development and implementation of appropriate crisis
response and safety plans.
Provide written documentation to referring stakeholders as required to be compliant with and the referrer and comply with Mind Matters Psychology policies and procedures
Create and maintain professional records pertaining to psychological services, including (but not limited to) case notes, reports and letters that are consistent with the APS Code of Ethics and psychologists’ professional and legal obligations.
Liaise, consult, and make appropriate referrals to external services including GPs and other health professionals.
Comply with data collection as required under Medicare and Mind Matters Psychology Policies and Procedures.
Participation in regular supervision, professional development, and commitment to the continued development of clinical skills and evidence based best practice
Selection Criteria:
Registration with AHPRA as a Provisional Psychologist, Psychologist with a current annual practicing certificate.
Registration with the AASW with a current practicing certificate.
Knowledge, experience, understanding and passion for the health and wellbeing of clients of all ages.
Sound knowledge of and demonstrated experience in clinical practice and therapeutic interventions within the mental health field.
Demonstrated ability to provide high quality assessment and evidence-based psychological
interventions, within a stress-vulnerability and recovery framework for clients of all ages.
Sound knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders.
A high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving and negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with team members, other professionals, and outside agencies.
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and function autonomously while being able to effectively work in a team.
Advanced computer literacy – Microsoft Office Suite, Halaxy, other Client Management
Systems (CMS) and understanding IT networking and systems.
Awareness of relevant legislation/policies and issues informing health and other services for clients of all ages.
Demonstrated commitment to clinical supervision, education, training, and ongoing professionals’ development.
Special Requirements:
Unrestricted right to live and work in Australia.
A current National Police Check will be required.
A current valid Working with Children Check is required

Mackay is located on the eastern or Coral Sea coast of Queensland, Australia. It is roughly 803 kilometres north of Brisbane, on the Pioneer River.
