Job Title: Midwife - Innisfail
Practice Information:
This organisation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. They provide culturally appropriate and comprehensive primary health care programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities in Innisfail and the surrounding areas. The service provides a multi-disciplinary approach with linkages to specialists and allied health providers to deliver preventative and ongoing holistic health care, health promotion and education, safety and wellbeing support.
This organisation is part of a larger network of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Community Controlled Health Services throughout Queensland and Australia.
Position Description:
The purpose of the Registered nurse/Midwife is to provide clinical care and comprehensive Primary Health Care, and the provision of quality and culturally appropriate nursing services to the community. In addition, this role provides clinical care and coordination of child and maternal health services including the provision of quality and culturally appropriate nursing services. Travelling throughout the geographic service area may be a requirement of this position.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor of Nursing & APHRA registration
Must have midwifery and immunization endorsement
Current QLD Driver’s license
Current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one
Job Type: Permanent – Full time
Salary Information: Negotiable (Based on Experience & Qualifications)

Cassowary Coast has a population of approximately 30,000 with Innisfail uniquely situated at the junction of the North and South Johnstone Rivers, about 5 km from the coast.
