Practice Information:
Aboriginal community-controlled health service dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across North-West Queensland. This organisation provides culturally safe, holistic care through integrated primary health, allied health, and social emotional wellbeing services.
Position Description:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide culturally appropriate, evidence-based assessment and intervention services to clients across the lifespan. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care that supports independence, participation, and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting clinical assessments and developing goal-oriented care plans
Delivering therapeutic interventions in clinic and outreach settings
Supporting clients with self-care, mobility, functional capacity, and environmental adaptations
Collaborating with clients, families, and other health professionals to achieve positive outcomes
Promoting health education and community engagement initiatives
Position Requirements:
Essential Criteria:
Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
Current registration with AHPRA
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to outreach sites
Desirable:
Experience working in rural or remote health settings
Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and cultural perspectives
Experience with NDIS or community health models
