Job Description
In accordance with their philosophy and policies, this position is responsible for the provision of quality Physiotherapy services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Undertake duties in accordance with the philosophy, business practices and policies of
Allied Connect and perform the following duties:
Practise within the Code of Conduct for Registered Health Practitioners of the Physiotherapy profession, as documented by AHPRA and The Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
Provide Physiotherapy, including pain management services, to clients within the community and RACF’s.
Apply communication skills to work cooperatively and effectively with patients and their families/carers as well as colleagues, supervisors and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
Prepare written reports to referral sources and other professionals as required.
Maintain up to date records of client assessments, progress notes and discharge summaries.
Provide statistics and documentation as required.
Work as a professional member of a multi-disciplinary team and actively participate in team meetings.
Assess, plan and evaluate programs or treatments for the client by:
Provide accurate client assessment and treatment in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
Participate in the ongoing evaluation and review of Physiotherapy services and resources including the identification of Physiotherapy service needs and forward planning to develop the Physiotherapy service.
Balancing competing priorities of individual’s expectations against resource levels
Maintain documentation in a professional and confidential manner and in accord with Allied Connect standards.
Liaise with other health care professionals, clients and their families and external agencies as required to achieve optimal outcomes with regards to care.
Provide direction, supervision and support to assistants.
Provide operational supervision to work experience students, or those involved in observational clinical placements.
Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities.
Participating in continuing education and courses updating Physiotherapy techniques and information.
Ensure Physiotherapy equipment is adequately maintained and liaising with the Practice Manager for the ordering of supplies and equipment.
Liaise with the Practice Manager for the billing of clients and clinical consumables used during treatments.
High level knowledge related to Physiotherapy item codes and appointment types.
Ensure all adverse clinical events are recorded and reported to the Regional Manager.
LEVEL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Manage an appropriate caseload using high level time management and prioritisation skills, including clinical and non-clinical responsibilities.
Able to recite verbatim relevant ACFI complex healthcare procedures.
Ability to mentor and support Level 1 and 2 allied health professionals.
Ability to work flexibly within the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current Physiotherapy Registration with AHPRA.
Driver’s Licence.
Experience in working with aged clients in a multi-disciplinary environment.
An understanding of issues for elderly people, their families and carers.
Knowledge of the range and type of services available for aged/disabled persons.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of a team.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to review procedures and implement new models of service delivery to satisfy client and organisational requirements.
Demonstrated commitment to quality outcomes and ability to consult with staff regarding continuous improvement.
Understanding of ageing and ability to relate to older people.
Knowledge of and commitment to Occupational, Health, Safety and Welfare legislation.
Understanding of quality accreditation systems and their application in the workplace.
Proven ability to coordinate the activities of a range of staff.
Demonstrated skill and professional practice as a Physiotherapist.
Sound computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Experience in working with aged clients in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Experience in measuring client outcomes.
Knowledge of the providers in the aged care sector.
