Practice Information:
This is a Training Practice that has Registrars and Medical Students at different stages of their Training. This mixed billing Practice has 11 Doctors (5 FTE).

Position Description:

• Observing and recording patients’ behaviour, Screening Patients waiting to see the Doctors including performing Health Assessments – over 75, 45-49year old, ATSI.

• Coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals for creating and reviewing Chronic Disease care plans (GPMP).

• In order to provide emotional and psychological support to the patients and their families, create harmonious environment.

• Maintaining reports of patients’ medical histories, and monitoring changes in their condition.

• Carrying out the requisite treatments and medications including Vaccinations.

• Checking the stock on a regular basis for maintaining the inventory level and placing orders if required.

• Adhering with the protocols, norms, rules and regulations in order to maintain complete medical records.

• Maintaining hygienic and safe working environment in compliance with the healthcare procedures.

• Providing necessary guidance on health maintenance and disease prevention. Keeping an eye on each and every aspect of patient care

• Preparing rooms, and decontaminating equipment and instruments including sterilisation.

• Preparing patients for examinations including Pap Smears, Pelvic and Breast Examinations.

• Educating patients’ families about the disease and its treatment where appropriate.

• Assisting doctors during surgery/Procedures.

• Assisting doctors with Pre-employment/Periodic Employment/Driver Licence Medical Examinations – Audiometry, ECG, Spirometry, Visual Acuity

• Interacting with the healthcare teams for maintaining harmonious relationships.

• Attending educational workshops for enhancing professional and technical knowledge.

• Cold Chain Responsibilities: 1, Monitoring Cold Chain Practices 2, Ensuring all Vaccines and Biologics are handled correctly and Procedures are Documented 3,Check vaccine stock expiration periodically including ordering of vaccines 4, Download and review the Data Logger installed in the Vaccine Refrigerator on a Daily basis 5, Respond to the Emergency call outs by the Data Logger installed in the Vaccine Refrigerator when the Temperature reaches critical levels.

• Infection Control Responsibilities: 1, Abide by Mount Isa Medical Centre Policies and Practices as varied from time to time. 2, Ensure Infection Control standards meet professional and ethical requirements 3,Participate in Surveillance Activities and Hand Hygiene Audits 4, Provide Education on Control to other Staff Members when directed to do so 5, Maintain/check the Spill Kit Periodically and stock the kit when used 6, Quarantine Suspected Cases/patients on arrival at the Practice 7, Plan, implement, manage and evaluate Infection prevention and Control Activities

• Caring Attitude: Convey a caring attitude by empathising with and comforting patients by easing Patient's anxieties, answering patient's questions and promptly attending to distressed Patients and Emergencies

• Performing 24 Hour Holter Monitor on Patients

Qualifications & Experience:

• Open to RNs and ENs.

• No prior General Practice/Primary care experience required.

Salary Information: 
$66,560 – $93,600 per annum.  Negotiable (based on experience & qualifications).
