Drugs Recovery Service in Mt Isa. The Service operates from 9 am to 5 pm, 5 days a week. It's a 45 bed facility, with GP onsite at all times.
Suitable candidates required experience;
- Sound knowledge of AOD/Gambling, Community Services and Health Sectors;
- Demonstrated experience and ability to work with those impacted by substance abuse, gambling and mental health conditions;
- Demonstrated experience in effective case and project management;
- Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background;
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
- Experience working in collaboration with other organisations.
Qualifications & Mandatory requirements;
- Tertiary qualification in Nursing and current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
- Minimum 2 years' experience and demonstrated competence in nursing in the alcohol and other drugs nursing environment,
- including working with people with mental health conditions;
- Demonstrated current knowledge of the Guidelines and issues relating to withdrawal management;
- Demonstrated skills in triage, medical assessment, decision making and providing appropriate nursing interventions and to
- provide crisis support;
- Demonstrated competence in infection control procedures;
- Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and from religious backgrounds;
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with people displaying challenging behaviors.
- Willingness and ability to work weekends and overnight shifts;
- WHS - knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace in line with TSA policy & procedures and legislation;
- Professional development required to maintain skills for the role;
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and other employment checks as required;
- Current Driver's License;
- Queensland Blue Card - Working with children check
