Locally owned private practice in Central Queensland. The practice has a driven and proven focus on ensuring families living in geographically isolated areas of Central Queensland have access to high quality, evidence-based speech pathology services.
Moranbah (located 194km south-west of Mackay). Moranbah is a thriving regional town located within arm’s reach of the beach and bush. Weekends could consist of camping, trips into the Whitsunday’s, rural race days, rodeos and/or the many community events held within the Isaac region.
Position Description:
Duties & Responsibilities of the role:
Administer paediatric speech pathology screenings and assessments. (Experience with the delivery of CELF-5, CELF-P2, PLS-5, QUIL, SPAT-R, Fisher Articulation Survey is beneficial).
Develop and administer appropriate evidence-based treatment plans for paediatric clients.
Collaborate with colleagues, other professionals, and parents to plan and provide speech pathology advice, support and strategies including goal setting, and contribution to the development of individual education plans.
Develop and maintain an effective record keeping system including progress notes, reports, and educational/health related documents.
Provide specialist reports to parents and other professionals via oral and/or written communication.
Be flexible and adaptable to meet therapy standards for rural and remote clients.
Be able to work independently in an enthusiastic manner.
Model and actively promote workplace behaviour that reflects the values and service charter of Central Queensland Speech Pathology and maintain standards and ethics as identified by the professional body Speech Pathology Australia.
A genuine passion for paediatric practice and willingness to develop professional relationships with children and their families to aid their intervention journey.
The position being offered is a full-time 12-month contract (with the possibility of extension) and requires the applicant to be preferably based in Moranbah (located 194km south-west of Mackay).
There will be a 5 week 1:1 mentoring block, followed by a 3-month probation period. Start date is flexible but required by mid-January 2021.

Qualifications and Experience:
A recognised degree in Speech Pathology.
Eligible for a Medicare provider number.
Must be a registered member of Speech Pathology Australia.
Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Current Working with Children check.
Current QLD drivers’ licence and reliable vehicle is a must.
Relationship focused, self-starting and able to work both autonomously and as a member of a team.
Proven ability to manage your time well and possess an excellent work ethic.
Excellent communicator with great client service skills.
Familiarity in the provision of evidence-based assessment and intervention within a family centred framework.
Experience in working with children with speech, language and literacy difficulties is beneficial.
Confidence to collaborate with other health professionals and educators.
