Discover how rural health professionals have creatively and courageously bought their hearts and minds to care for bush communities’ mental health by joining Go Rural Virtually – Mental Health in the Bush.
This virtual event is open to all health students with, or without, an understanding of mental illness to interact with speakers drawn from all aspects of rural and mental health. Go Rural Virtually speakers will include people with lived experience of mental illness, psychology and social work students who have undertaken rural placements, as well as outreach and online service providers.
Students and speakers will be divided into break-out rooms to participate in interactive discussions on how:
Acute presentations of psychiatrically unwell or behaviourally disturbed patients are treated
Mental health and wellbeing support is accessed in the bush
Innovative service delivery models can make a difference
No mind is an island
Health students can be part of the mental health solution
