A new cohort will be selected over the coming months for GROW Rural South West Queensland 2023 and applications are now open.
GROW Rural South West Queensland is an end-to-end rural health workforce solution program, open to first-year medical, nursing, midwifery, dentistry, and allied health students studying in Queensland.
The main elements of the GROW Rural Program are:
GROW Rural annual weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) events occur from years 1 - 3
Support of student university clinical placements in GROW Rural communities
Longitudinal support for participating students
New graduate job placement in the GROW Rural communities/region
Initial job placement support for new graduates
GROW Rural students will come together, as a multidisciplinary team, from first year to becoming a new grad, to gain experience in clinical practice, develop relationships with selected communities and health professionals, and meet potential future employers, while exploring the South West Queensland region.
By cultivating community and clinical connections GROW Rural creates a structured pathway into rural employment within the region's primary health care settings.
This year GROW Rural South West Queensland will be visiting Roma and St George from Friday, 13 October - Sunday, 15 October.
