An exciting new program has been developed to provide financial support to improve access to maternal and child health education and training for Northern Queensland’s primary care providers. The program is a collaborative initiative by Health Workforce Queensland and Northern Queensland PHN to address the real barriers primary health workforce's face in accessing upskilling, and is in alignment with Better Health North Queensland Alliance First 1,000 Days Framework.

Professionals working in primary health care in Northern Queensland can apply for funding to upskill in maternal and child health. This can be done individually or as an organisation.

Financial support may be used for course, conference or workshop costs, additional qualification costs, and travel and accommodation (if applicable). Flexible holistic costs required to enable upskilling may also be considered on case by case basis.

There are a wide range of eligible professions. For more information on eligibility, program guidelines and to apply click the button below, or email the program manager.
