An update from Rosie Barton, Health Workforce Connector, Gladstone.
Over the last few months, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Primary Health Care providers who are interested in taking students on or increasing the number of students they are able to supervise each year. I’ve built strong connections within our local universities, engaged with high school students & assisted the Gladstone Area State Secondary School Partnerships (GASSSIP) team to find vital work experience opportunities within the health sector. I’ve attended events including the Gladstone Career’s Expo (pictured below), Rockhampton’s Health Career’s Expo, the Regional Medical Pathway State of the Region’s Dinner, Interagency Meetings & Queensland Council of Social Services Workforce Town Hall. I am looking forward to future events such as the next CCQ Clinical Society, & Central Queenland University’s upcoming Open Day as well as many more.
The Effective Clinical Supervision Workshop, facilitated by the experienced Dr Sneha Kirubakaran, was a successful event and I have planned a second one later this year. Click on the button below for more information on that event. We also have two further new events coming up before the end of 2025, including the New Career Event, also linked below. I’m grateful for the connections I’ve made along the way, with so many dedicated healthcare professionals, all aiming towards the same goal - creating a strong health workforce for our region.
