Health Workforce Queensland joined stakeholders and clinicians in Toowoomba on Saturday, 26 July for the Darling Downs GP Symposium, a one-day event hosted by Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN (DDWM PHN).

The symposium offered a focused program of specialist-led sessions in cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, psychiatry, voluntary assisted dying (VAD), palliative care, and updates from Darling Downs Health. The event provided valuable clinical education alongside opportunities for regional networking and collaboration.

Our Regional Coordinator for the Darling Downs and West Moreton region, Marijana Duljaj, reconnected with local practices supported by Health Workforce Queensland and met with Peter Wallace, Director of Primary Care at DDWM PHN, as well as several primary care liaison officers.

Marijana also engaged with representatives from the University of Queensland to promote the upcoming Allied Health Student Careers Expo.

“It was an incredibly valuable day, and the event highlighted the importance of regionally tailored professional development and collaboration across the primary care sector,” said Marijana.
