QRMFN Family Support Program

At Health Workforce Queensland, we understand the critical importance of supporting the families of the rural health workforce in addition to the practitioners themselves.

The Queensland Rural Medical Family Network (QRMFN) Family Support Program aims to recognise, empower and support rural health spouses, partners and families. In doing so, we also strive to support the health practitioners in rural and remote practice and training throughout Queensland.

Whether you’re new to Queensland or have been here for many years, learn more about the many ways we can support each other through the sharing of information, ideas and common experiences.

The QRMFN Family Support Program offers the following initiatives:

We are thrilled to announce that the QRMFN 2025 Backbone of the Bush Award was presented to the truly remarkable Candida Blackwell, of Mount Isa. Candida accepted the award and gave a heartfelt thanks during the David Horn Memorial Gala Ball at the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland (RDAQ) Conference on the Gold Coast in June.
