Practice Information: This well-established family medical practice, owned by experienced GP’s in beautiful Bundaberg Queensland (10 mins to beach) is looking for a FT/PT GP to join our team. Operating in Bundaberg for 50+ years (current directors 32 years), with solid support staff and a loyal, long-term patient base, our busy 4 doctor, mixed billing practice is looking for a long-term GP to join our team.
Bundaberg - MMM2/RRMA3 Bundaberg is a city in south-east Queensland, Australia, about 385km north of the state capital, Brisbane. It is 15km inland from the Coast and situated on the Burnett River. It is a major centre within the broader Wide Bay–Burnett geographical region. In 2018, the Australian Bureau of Statistics estimated Bundaberg's population was 70,921 (2018) in the township itself, with another 30,000 approx in surrounding districts services by Bundaberg’s healthcare system.
Bundaberg is served by three hospitals all in close proximity to the practice. One public hospital, Bundaberg Base Hospital (1.6km), and two private hospitals, Friendly Society Private Hospital (1.3km) & Mater Hospital (2.3km). Bundaberg Ambulance Station is a 2 minute drive. Bundaberg is also home to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, who regularly transport patients to Bundaberg from more rural and remote areas, as well as transferring critically ill patients to Brisbane for specialist care.
There are many public and private primary schools in Bundaberg. Bundaberg has three public high schools, Bundaberg North State High School, Bundaberg State High School and Kepnock State High School. There are also three main private secondary schools: Shalom Catholic College, St Luke's Anglican School, and Bundaberg Christian College. There is a campus of the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE on Walker St and a campus of the Central Queensland University, located adjacent to the airport.
Position Description: This position would be ideally suited to someone intending to have an interest in future management of a medical practice. Hours and conditions negotiable for the right person. This position could also be well suited to a husband/wife team.
To provide competent and comprehensive medical care, addressing prevention, treatment and rehabilitation to patients of various ages and demographics. Assessing, diagnosing and treating accute and chronic conditions, providing and promoting preventative health and well-being. Ordering diagnostic testing and following up on results, recalling patients as needed in a timely manor. Documenting all care and information/education provided to patients within their health record, as per professional and practice standards. Consulting and collaborating with colleges to provide optimal care to patients. Referring on to specialist medical care as needed To fulfill all duties within the practitioner’s scope of practice, and referring appropriately to other professionals where your scope of practice is exceeded.
After Hours: No requirements
Qualifications and Experience: M.B.B.S VR status, OR eligibility to enter the PEP program. Must hold all relevant qualifications and insurances required for the role
