Practice Information:
This organisation was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The Regional and Specialist Services team work to deliver a holistic range of services that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across South-East Queensland. They provide direct clinical services, care coordination, allied therapies, contracted health professional services, and advocacy support to NDIS participants and the wider IUIH network. Their focus is on improving access to comprehensive and effective health services through inter-professional collaboration and strong partnerships with local stakeholders and organisations, ensuring participants receive high-quality, culturally responsive care.
Position Description:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide culturally appropriate, client-centred care within a multidisciplinary team. Services are delivered within a system of care that walks alongside clients throughout their health journey, including both NDIS participants and the broader network. You will have the opportunity to:
Work in Paediatrics, Adult & Disability service space
Develop both Adult and Paediatric skills by maintaining a diverse caseload across the lifespan. This includes the opportunity to specialise in adult, paediatric or mixed caseloads.
Work collaboratively within an interprofessional team of health care professionals including: Speech Pathologists, Physios, EPs, Paed Nurses, GPs, AHWs, Paediatricians, and more. As a collaborative team we work together to provide client-centred care.
Work in a variety of settings such as primary health care clinics, kindergartens, and other community settings.
Contribute to continuing innovative health service development.
Be committed to the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health.
Position Requirements (Mandatory):
AHPRA Registration
Relevant degree in Occupational Therapy
Current Yellow Card – Disability Worker Screening Clearence (Prior to Commencement)
Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld) and willingness to travel
Current First Aid & CPR Certificates (Willingness to obtain)
Current criminal history check (willingness to obtain)
