Practice Information:
This organisation was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. They have opportunities for developing caseloads across the lifespan, tailored to your interests and skills. The Paediatric Services team aim is to support parents, infants and children from preconception and early pregnancy through to middle childhood (12 years of age) to enhance family functioning and promote childhood development and parental wellbeing. They are also expanding our adult speech pathology service, with opportunities to take on a mix caseload if this is of interest.
About the Role?
As a Speech Pathologist, you will provide culturally appropriate services as part of a multi- disciplinary team. The organisations services are provided within a system of care that walks alongside clients in their health journey. They have both a full-time permanent position and part-time opportunities servicing clinics across the Moreton Bay region. You will have the opportunity to:
Work collaboratively within an interprofessional team of health care professionals including Occupational Therapists, Physios, Dietitians, EPs, Paediatric Nurses, GPs, AHWs, Paediatricians, and more. As a collaborative team we work together to provide client-centred care.
Work in a variety of settings such as primary health care clinics, kindergartens, nursing homes and other community settings.
Develop both Adult and Paediatric skills by maintaining a diverse caseload across the lifespan.
Contribute to continuing innovative health service development.
Be committed to the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health.
Position Requirements:
Mandatory:
Relevant degree in Speech Pathology
Current Speech Pathology Australia Membership
Current QLD Drivers Licence
Current Blue Card and Disability Worker Screening Check (must have prior to commencement)
Current Criminal History Check
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
Desirable, but not mandatory:
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
