Professional Development

Access to quality training opportunities and professional inclusion are nationally recognised as key factors in improving the retention rates of doctors and other health professionals in remote locations. Health Workforce Queensland provides a range of targeted professional development activities to assist remote and rural health professionals to maintain and increase their skills and qualifications.

Our training is relevant to identified learning needs and priorities, and aims to increase confidence and competence in the assessment, treatment and management of patients in primary care.

In addition, rural and remote doctors are often able to access subsidies to access medical education and training through Department of Health funding.Find out more about available subsidies.
